ABOUT SUMMIT
We don’t do Treatment.
We provide Opportunity.
Summit is a Maryland-based addiction treatment community built by people who’ve lived through addiction themselves — not a clinic, and not a program that asks you to fit a system. We help people find the path that actually works for them.
OUR STORY
Built from lived experience, not a textbook
Summit is an innovative program model pioneered by people with firsthand experience of addiction’s devastating impact — people who have transformed their own struggles into a mission to help others build lives free from the grip of addiction.
Founder & CEO Tom Bond was born and raised in Maryland, where a career in corporate America masked a growing dependence on substances. Over time his life unraveled — homelessness, incarceration, and the loss of both his mother and uncle to substance use disorder. That loss became a determination to help others break the cycle.
Prior to launching Summit in 2019, Tom spent 17 years at Helping Up Mission, one of the country’s largest and most respected treatment communities. He brought that experience home to build something different: a place that treats people as human beings first, not patients.
We believe in the power of vulnerability. By sharing our own stories, we create the space where real healing and transformation can happen.
LIFE ENRICHMENT & COMMUNITY
Your Path. Our Purpose.
Our House. Your Home.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
There’s no single path that works for everyone
Summit isn’t selling “recovery.” We provide opportunity, community, stability, and the real-life support people need to move forward on their own terms.
An individualized approach
Care built around the person, not a rigid system they’re expected to fit into.
Community support
A stable, connected environment where people build relationships and move forward together.
Real-life integration
Housing, employment, education, and practical guidance that extend beyond treatment walls.
Flexible pathways
Levels of care and community support that meet people exactly where they are today.
WHOLE-PERSON SUPPORT
Addressing the whole person,
not just the addiction
People aren’t purely emotional beings, and they aren’t purely biological ones either. Summit addresses all four dimensions of a person, because lasting change has to touch every part of a life.

Body
Medical care that looks at the whole person — including the health concerns that often go untreated alongside substance use.

Mind
Individual, group, and family counseling that meets people as human beings, not diagnoses.

Community
Housing, employment, and relationships — the everyday structures a stable life is built on.

Purpose
Room for each person’s own sense of meaning, belonging, and forward movement.
